John Compagno, MD, MBA, is the owner and Medical Director of West Coast Pathology Laboratories. First established in 1985, Dr. Compagno has promoted a policy of service to clients and patients, attention to detail, accuracy of reporting, and rapid turnaround time for patient results. Dr. Compagno is Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hemato-pathology. He has been practicing medicine since 1971 and pathology since 1974, and has a special interest in cytology and molecular diagnostics. Dr. Compagno trained in pathology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, was an associate for several years at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington D.C., and trained in laboratory medicine at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Oakland, California during active service in the U.S. Navy. He received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco in 1997.
Dr. Compagno is the author of several peer reviewed publications in Anatomic Pathology and has extensive interest and experience in GYN and non-GYN cytology, GI pathology, and Podiatric pathology. He currently directs our histopathology laboratory as well as the Molecular Diagnostics lab. His focus is the use of PCR for Women’s Health, viral genotyping, as well as Urovysion testing for urothelial neoplasia.
